How to Cover Up Acne Proffesionaly

August 21, 2007

There is a way to professionally cover up your acne with makeup. It’s not difficult. All you have to do is follow some quick steps. The more you do it the less time it will take and the more professional your make up job will look.

The first thing you’ll want to do is purchase a foundation makeup that is oil free, and one that is hypoallergenic as well. While the point of the makeup may be covering up the acne with a professional look you don’t want to aggravate the acne condition doing so.

The three products you need for a professionally done acne cover up are concealer, foundation and finishing powder. All of these should be quality name brand products. In fact, you might want to find a store that specializes in high quality hair and skin care products, or one of the high-end department stores such as Macy’s, Dillards, or Nordstrom’s.

The first step in your professional acne cover up is to lightly dab the concealer directly on any red areas of your skin or any dark blotches created by your acne. You’ll need a facial sponge that is disposable to blend the concealer into your face. Make sure you only use a little bit of the concealer or you’ll look hideous when it’s dried on. You can always add more later if you were too sparing with the concealer.

You next take a small amount of foundation and dab it on your face lightly. Blend it with your facial sponge and put another light application on any areas in which your acne is still glaring through.

The third and final step to creating a professionally done look to your makeup and a minimization of your acne problem is to apply a light dusting of powder that is oil free. For this you need a large makeup brush. What this powder will do for your face is to rid it of any shine left by the foundation and concealer. The result will be a face with a finished and even look to it.

One important rule to remember if you want to help minimize an acne outbreak is to never reuse either your foundation sponge or the applicator you use to apply the concealer. Reuse of either runs the risk of apply new bacteria to your already acne-prone face and aggravating the condition.
